Learn more about how we operate and what we do.
We accept a wide range of recyclable materials including ferrous metals (steel, iron), non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel, exotic alloys), electronic waste (computers, servers, telecommunications equipment), and various plastics (HDPE, PET, PVC, engineering plastics). If you have a specific material you'd like to recycle, please contact us to confirm we can accept it and discuss the best disposal options.
Our primary service area includes Western Pennsylvania, particularly Pittsburgh, Butler County, and Allegheny County. We also serve parts of Beaver, Lawrence, Mercer, and Washington counties. If your location is outside our primary service area, please contact us anyway—we may be able to accommodate your request or recommend a trusted partner in your region.
We offer both options to accommodate your needs. Our fleet provides pickup services throughout our service area with flexible scheduling. We can arrange regular weekly or monthly pickup routes for consistent volumes, or schedule one-time pickups for larger projects. If you prefer to drop off materials, you're welcome at our Valencia facility during business hours. Our team can help you determine which option works best for your situation.
Our facility is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We're closed on Sundays and major holidays. For large project pickups outside regular hours, please contact us to discuss special arrangements—we do our best to accommodate our customers' schedules.
Understanding Our Rates
We believe in fair, transparent pricing based on current market conditions and material quality.
Metal prices fluctuate based on commodity markets. We update our purchase prices weekly and are always competitive with other local buyers. For e-waste and plastics, pricing is based on material type, condition, and volume. Contact us for current rates on your specific materials.
Documentation & Regulations
Important information about our compliance practices.
We provide comprehensive documentation for every load including certified weight tickets from our state-inspected scales, waste manifests where required, and certificates of recycling upon completion. All documentation meets EPA and Pennsylvania DEP requirements for compliance reporting. Digital copies are maintained for a minimum of three years and available upon request for your records.
Data security is our top priority for e-waste. We follow NIST 800-88 standards for media sanitization, and all storage devices are either physically shredded or processed through certified data destruction equipment. We maintain complete chain-of-custody documentation throughout the entire process. Upon completion, we provide certificates of destruction with serial number tracking for your records and audit purposes.
Yes, JW Marshall is fully licensed and operates in compliance with all applicable regulations. We're an EPA-compliant facility and maintain Pennsylvania DEP permits for the materials we process. We're also R2v3 certified, which demonstrates our commitment to responsible recycling practices and proper downstream vendor management. Our certifications are regularly audited and renewed as required.
Absolutely. Many of our customers use our documentation for ESG reporting, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance. We can provide summary reports of materials recycled, diversion rates from landfills, and environmental impact metrics. Just let us know what information you need, and we'll work with you to provide the data necessary for your reporting requirements.
Materials are weighed upon arrival, sorted by type and grade, and then processed according to their final destination. Metals are shipped to mills and foundries for remelting. E-waste goes through specialized processing to recover precious metals and separate hazardous components. Plastics are baled and sent to certified reprocessors. We work only with vetted downstream partners who meet our standards for environmental responsibility.
